This was my first project for the General Assembly UX Design Immersive course. After choosing a general theme of food & dining, I conducted user interviews to understand people’s behaviours, frustrations and pain points related to dining.
The key insight that I found was that when it comes to restaurant recommendations, people do not trust influencer reviews and have more trust in friends’ or family recommendations.
Based on my user interview insights, I crafted a persona and a problem statement to work with:
Users need a reliable way to find restaurant recommendations because they don’t always trust internet reviews and influencers
The proposed solution was a mobile app that users can use to find restaurant recommendations from friends. Enter TasteTribe. An app that combines restaurant listings with a social aspect, i.e. sharing restaurant recommendations with your tribe.
